Legalizing World Marshall day will drastically reduce crime rates

The rates of crime in recent years all over the world have been quite alarming. Nigeria is also not left out of this tragedy. With a crime frequency of more than 1000 recorded crimes per day, about 75% of the most notorious crimes is said to have been perpetrated by youths.

Why is this the case? A critical look into the causes of these adverse effects will help you see why crime rates in Nigeria have been on the increase and why legalizing World Marshall day is a major way out.

With a youth population of  over 96 million in this country, there are only about 50 million slots available in the labour market to absorb this population of youths. What happens to the over 46 million others? They have three options, either to source out a legitimate way for themselves so as to make money and not stay idle or to go the illegal and illegitimate way around it or simply just remain jobless and unemployed. Fortunately, most of the youths go with the first option--sourcing out a legitimate way for themselves.

The act of sourcing out a legitimate means of survival for oneself is what many youths prefer to call hustling, hence calling themselves hustlers. Many youths rather choose to hustle and make ends meet for themselves than to rather remain unemployed or become a societal nuisance. 

These young hustlers are very important to the economy of any state or federation because by their own initiatives, they are solution providers. They work overtime to solve various problems facing their society and then make money in exchange for their contribution. These hustlers also assist the government in solving the problem of unemployment by creating more jobs which other youths can take up and thereby reduce unemployment rates. These hustlers are also notable for boosting the economy through wealth creation. 

For these reasons, these hustlers deserve to be celebrated for their major contributions to the society just like their counterparts in the job and labour market are being celebrated. Celebrating worker's day is not enough, celebrating hustlers' day will piece that completes the puzzle. 

When young hustlers are celebrated, this will make them feel special, appreciated and recognized for their contributions to the society. In turn this will encourage them and motivate them to do more. This will also encourage other youths who currently don't do anything realize that there is a reward for being a hustler and this will in turn inspire them to start hustling as well. This will have a huge impact on reducing crime rate in the society.

February 18, the date chosen to be chosen to be the day this young hustlers are celebrated and recognized, once approved, shall be the official World Marshall day.

In conclusion, celebrating a young hustler will inspire the society to become more hardworking and productive thereby reducing crime rates in the country and improving the economy.
