He proceeded immediately to tertiary institution, first had his pre-degree at the Osun state University before been admitted to study Civil Engineering at the same Prestigious university in 2013.
Oguntola Niyi has had a short but impactful and purposeful sojourn in Student unionism. First, he contested for the position of the Federation of Iwoland Students Union (FILSU) General Secretary in 2015, unfortunately, the election was disrupted and there was no executive for the year, he re-contested for the position in 2016 and won convincingly, while serving as the union General Secretary, he served in various other committees, his brilliancy, vibrancy, activeness, huge political acumen and technical know-how assisted the union in recording several successes and the administration was rated by some as the best in the union history. Earlier in 2018, he contested for the FILSU Presidency after his tenure as the General Secretary ended but lost in a controversial faction. A week later, Niyi was appointed as the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS) President, a position he holds till today. It is worthwhile to state that, he also currently holds the position of the Deputy Speaker at the Faculty of Engineering, Osun State University.
Niyi is a founding member, Iwoland Development Coalition(IDC), the largest and most recognised NGO in Iwo Federal Constituency, he is also a member of various committee under the aegis of IDC.
His hobbies includes but not limited to book reading, knowledge acquiring, history knowing, football, traveling among others
